The webinar was organized by the CISCE in collaboration with PSSCIVE on 24th of May 2024 at Vidyodaya Public School. All the teachers from class 6th to 8th attended this session.
The welcoming remarks were given by Chief Executive and Secretary, CISCE. Later on the session began on Integrating Skill education and building Vocational Capacities at middle school (Grades 6 to 8) by Dr. Vinay Swarup Mehrotra, Professor and head of PSSCIVE.
The session was on focusing skill based education or work based education. NEP 2020 has implemented integration of vocational education with general education (VE+ GE). The pedagogy of teaching will be art and science of teaching with major of 3 skill developments.

The programme will also include 10 bag less days, local art and crafts and Lok vidya which is taught by providing exposure to vocational skills , collaborating with local art and craft industries and children could be exposed to internship programmes for improving their employability skills. Giving them opportunities to acquire hands on experience, indulging them in yoga, exercise, time management and ICT could also include in the programme.
Once all of these are done we could also check on the learning outcomes by observable and measureable skills. By doing these , skills such as Sensory, psychomotor, cognitive and affective skills would improve in the child.
We could include some domain activities such as:-
· Gardeneing
· Food preparation
· Basic sewing
· Introduction to coding
· Electronics
· Graphic designing etc.
Assessment and evaluation could also be done by authentic and holistic learning and assess if the child has learnt the content conceptually. At the end progress card can be provided for the same.
