The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine.
Vidyodaya Public School conducted a session on Exploration of space and astronomy, Galactic Gathering for the students of class IX and X on 26th July, 2024.
The Resource person was Dr A P Bhat, who has served as Professor and HoD of Physics Department at PPC, Udupi for over 20 years. He spoke about the topics, Coronal Mass Ejection, sunspots, solar flares, Aurora Borealis and so on.
He also went on taking the excited students on a journey through space and answering any questions from the ever-inquisitive young minds.
The mission is intended to inspire children and young people to explore the world around them, and engage more fully with science, technology, engineering and maths subjects.
The event was conducted in the presence of the Principal , Mrs Anitha P Raj, under the supervision of Mrs Meghana, Ms Sushma and Mrs Deepika.
Ms Vaishnavi P Rao was the Emcee of the event. Master Hariharasudhan presented the welcome address. The Resource person was introduced to the gathering by Ms Charvi Kotian.The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Drithi.
This was followed by a Science model competition for the students of IX and X. The objective of this competition was to inculcate a scientific attitude and research mindedness so that students develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking. It was judged by Dr A P Bhat.
Over all the students were thrilled and excited to be part of the enthralling and enlightening session.
