The much awaited scouts and guides night camp was held in Vidyodaya Public School during the weekend of January 27th – 28th 2024.
The camp kickstarted with the flag hoisting ceremony in the Rangamandira on 27th January 2024 at 3:00 p.m. This was followed by inaugural function which was presided over by the Chief Guest Smt. Sumana Shekhar ASOC. To invoke the blessings of the Almighty. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was done by the honourable chief guest, Principal Mrs. Anitha P. Raj, Scout and Guides and Cubs and Bulbuls leaders.
Total 85 students accompanied by 40 teachers were taken to hiking to Timmakka Park. Students enjoyed then returned to school for the yummy snacks. At 7:15 p.m. campfire was held. Student lit the campfire, our school honourable Joint Secretary Mrs. Roopa Ballal was the guest of the event 1½ hour entertainment programme was highlight of the event.
After the dinner students before going to bed played musical chair as a team game. The lights went off at 10:30 p.m. and the exciling day came to an end. Next day started with BP exercise and sarwadharma prarthane. Which says all are equal. Then moved to group activity cook with fire. Children strived hard to cook the dishes to perfection.
It was time for excursion to the ‘Anatomy Museum’ in manipal. Children sharpened their knowledge by understanding various aspects of Human body and Animal Life. At 1:30 p.m. has tasty lunch. It was time to bring a close to the camp with the valedictory functions. The teacher appreciated the students by gifting them a bag, they also relished ice-creams and sanjeera. Students gave the positive feed back and shared their experience at the camp.
It was a great learning experience for the students instilling in them value s like discipline team work, Social skills independence along with the fun element.
