Sanskrit Day celebration at Vidyodaya Public School

Sanskrit Day at Vidyodaya Public School Udupi

Sanskrit, one of world’s oldest languages, is often referred to as Dev Vani, signifying the language of the deities. This year, the Sanskrit Diwas falls on Thursday, August 31. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness, promote, and honour the ancient Indian language.

Students of Vidyodaya Public School celebrated this day with much zeal and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the melodious singing of the Aikya Mathya Suktha by the school choir. The school students took much pride and joy to display their skills and creativity to spread knowledge about Sanskrit through various performing arts. The school choir also recited Vedic hymns and sang a euphonious song ‘Rangapura Vihara’ and ‘Garudagaman Tava’. This was followed by a dance performance ‘Kalinga Narthana Thillana’ and a skit which exhibited the significance of a teacher in one’s life. The students put up an impeccable show, successfully conveying the message to the audience.
