Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, celebrated Onam, the vibrant harvest festival of Kerala, with great enthusiasm on September 9, 2024. The primary students and teachers came together to honor the legendary King Mahabali, who symbolizes the spirit of sacrifice and integrity.The festivities began with a special assembly, where students created stunning floral designs, Pookalam (Flower Rangoli), showcasing their creativity and learning about traditional art forms. A magnificent Pookalam adorned the school's Rangamandira, representing peace and prosperity, and welcoming King Mahabali's homecoming.Principal Mrs. Anitha P. Raj, along with the primary teachers, lit the ceremonial lamp and extended warm wishes to all. The students then performed the traditional Thiruvathira dance, dressed in vibrant costumes, highlighting Kerala's rich cultural heritage and filling the school with a festive atmosphere.The Onam celebration at Vidyodaya Public School was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity and joy among students. It provided a unique opportunity for young learners to delve into Kerala's cultural traditions, appreciate India's diverse heritage, and create lasting memories.
