On June 21, 2024, Vidyodaya Public School celebrated International Yoga Day by organizing a special yoga session for its pupils. The session commenced at 9:10 AM and was filled with positivity and calmness, promoting a sense of well-being among the participants.
The program began with a heartwarming prayer, setting a peaceful tone for the session. This was followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony officiated by esteemed guests from Patanjali, the school's Principal, and coordinators. Mrs Leela R Amin and her team from Patanjali were present to guide the students through various yoga asanas, including the Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation).
Batch wise sessions were conducted for all the students from Grade I to X. The students of Kindergarten sections practised yoga asanas in their classrooms. The inclusion of yoga in students' lives helps them in managing their tasks and improves their memory, retention, and attention spans, boosts productivity, and enhances the student's overall well-being.
The yoga session provided a valuable opportunity for the students to learn and practice yoga postures under the guidance of experienced instructors. This exposure to yoga can help foster a healthy lifestyle and inner peace among the students.
The Emcee of the event was Ms. Shivani and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms Saanvi. Mrs Divya shree was in charge of overseeing the smooth running of the program. Towards the end of the event, the Principal, Mrs Anitha P Raj and the Yoga instructor, Mrs Leela R Amin, addressed the gathering, throwing light over the importance of yoga in one's lifestyle.
Overall the yoga session was a resounding success, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of yoga among the students of Vidyodaya Public School .
