The Pre-Primary teachers of Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, conducted a Fire Safety Awareness and Drill on Monday, 10th February 2025. The session aimed to educate children about essential safety measures in case of a fire emergency.
During the session, children learned:
* How to respond safely in the event of a fire.
* The importance of covering their nose and mouth with a handkerchief while walking through smoke.
* The correct way to roll a person caught in fire to extinguish flames.
* How to use sand to put out a fire.
* The importance of staying calm and seeking help from adults.
* The emergency fire engine number 101 for immediate assistance.
* The need to move to an open area for safety.
* The importance of switching off lights and closing the door to prevent the fire from spreading.
Pre-Primary Coordinator Mrs. Latha R. Nayak provided a detailed explanation of fire safety measures, making it easier for children to understand and remember.
This hands-on session helped children develop awareness, preparedness, and confidence in handling emergency situations effectively.
