On June 5, which is celebrated as the World Environmental Day,the 10th-grade students along with the teachers and Principal of Vidyodaya Public School took part in a meaningful and educational activity by planting a sapling of Periwinkle inside the school premises. This event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of trees and environmental conservation. The main objective of this event was to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage a sense of responsibility towards nature.
Prior to the planting a brief introduction was given by the Principal, Mrs P Anitha about the saplings. A total of 20 saplings were planted. Proper techniques for planting and caring for the saplings were demonstrated and practiced. Students committed to taking care of the saplings by ensuring they are watered regularly and protected from harm. This event instilled a sense of pride and accomplishment as students contributed to a greener environment. The planted saplings are expected to grow into mature trees, providing lasting benefits to the school community and the local environment. The sapling planting event on Environmental Day was a successful initiative that not only enhanced the school's landscape but also instilled an important environmental ethic in the students. This activity underscores the role of young individuals in making a positive impact on the planet.
