On 30th January, 2024, a group of Commercial Applications students, accompanied by teachers engaged in a Educational visit to the Hangyo Ice-Cream Pvt. Ltd. The purpose of the visit was to gain firsthand knowledge about the various processes involved in ice-cream manufacturing and to understand the significance of each step. The faculty members welcomed us and guided us through the site. Hygiene and safety precautions were taken, and everyone was made to wear a head-cap before entering the factory.
The students eagerly examined and observed each stage of the process, taking note of the different machines and their roles in the overall procedure.
Throughout the tour, the students had the valuable opportunity to interact with the employees of the ice-cream manufacturing unit, who shared their valuable insights and expertise regarding the entire ice-cream processing.
The team was taken to the testing lab where input quality of the ingredients of ice-cream was to be tested, then moved to the ice- cream mixture department, followed by a visit to the raw material storage segment. The volunteers in the industry were well-trained and explained the process of the manufacturing of ice- creams in detail.
The students were also taken to a cooling room where the final products were stored at a maximum cooling temperature (-25°). To the delight of the students, each one of them received a complimentary ice-cream scoop and chocobar.
It was a very good and learning experience in the factory. Students got to know practical things like research of raw material, storage of the raw material in different sections and different storage, then mixing of the raw materials, production department, quality testing of final product sample, packaging process, shipping to outlets in special vehicles to maintain its quality & marketing.
We thank our school management committee and Principal Mrs. Anitha P. Raj for giving the students an opportunity to have firsthand knowledge about ice-cream manufacturing process.
