Toxic chemicals such as Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, beryllium, Polyvenyl Chloride and phosphos compounds etc are very harmful to all living organisms. Unscientific dumping of E – waste pollutes soils, water and air to a considerable extent.
H. Ganesh Pai, Past President Lions Club Manipal has stressed the immediate need for scientific Management of E Waste Educational Institutions should create awareness among students.
Addressing the students of Vidyodaya Public School in the awareness programme the guest explained the unscientific procedure followed by every Indian household and commercial until in E waster Managemet. Every electronic waste item can be sorted and recycled without causing greater damage to the environment. The guest called upon the students to lead the way in this regards. K. P. Suresh Prabhu President LIONS Club Manipal and Mr. Vadiraj were present on the occasion. Smt. Anitha P Raj Presided over the programme. Smt. Shubha Rao welcomed the guests.
