A 3-day Cyber Awareness Workshop- “CYBER SAINIK” was successfully conducted at Vidyodaya Public School from 13th to 15th November 2024. The workshop, organized by the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and sponsored by Kyndrl, was aimed at educating students of Grades 6, 7, and 8 about the growing importance of cyber safety and security in the digital age. The initiative was designed to foster a deeper understanding of cyber threats, incidents, and the necessary precautions that students must take to ensure their online safety.
The workshop spanned three days, with each day focusing on different aspects of cyber safety and security viz., Cyber Hygiene, Cyber Laws and Ethics, Hacking and how to remain safe from it etc. The Resource Person gave a lot of real life examples and demonstrated practically for the students to show them how a network/system can be hacked and what are the precautions that should be taken in the same regard.
The sessions were very interactive and informative with enthusiastic participation by the students. Students were encouraged to think critically about their digital footprint and the importance of responsible online behavior.
As part of the workshop, a poster-making competition was held to encourage students to creatively express their understanding of cyber safety. The competition was open to all students in Grades 6, 7, and 8. The students designed posters that communicated key messages on staying safe online, protecting personal data, and avoiding cyber risks. The competition saw enthusiastic participation, and the best posters were awarded cash prizes.
The 3-day Cyber Awareness Workshop- Cyber Sainik was an immense success, with over 400 students attending and actively engaging in the sessions. The workshop not only provided critical knowledge about cyber safety but also fostered an environment where students felt empowered to make informed decisions online.
