Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was celebrated at Vidyodaya Public School on Monday, 28th August 2023 by the staff and students of the Primary section.
The festival of Onam is dedicated to the King Mahabali who sacrificed himself along with his kingdom in order to stand true to his words. The day was marked by the special assembly of Class I to V students.
The lamp was lit by Mrs. Anitha P Raj, Principal, addressed the gathering and conveyed greetings and wishes of the festival. She lauded the commendable performances of students, especially the staff who took initiative for organizing the event and thanked everyone for making the programme a memorable one.
A dance sequence for Malayalam song was performed to commemorate the day. The huge colourful flower carpet adorned the rangamandira of the school campus, symbolizing peace and serenity in the world, economic well-being and resource sharing, love and brotherhood, high ethics and morals, and human justice and conservation of nature.
