AICS Inter-School Rapid Chess Tournament "Checkmate: The Chess Challenge"
We had the privilege of hosting the AICS Inter-School Rapid Chess Tournament, "Checkmate: The Chess Challenge," on August 22, 2024, at the Vidyodaya Campus.
The event was inaugurated by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Vincent D’Costa, Principal of Sharada Residential School. He, along with our Principal, ceremoniously lit the lamp, marking the beginning of the tournament. The event commenced with a few symbolic chess moves by Mr. Vincent D’Costa and Mr. Umanatha Kaup, President of the Udupi Chess Association.
The entire tournament was expertly conducted by Mr. Sakshat U.K., Founder of Narayanaguru Chess Academy, Udupi, with the assistance of his dedicated team members.
A total of 28 schools following the ICSE and CBSE syllabi from in and around Udupi participated in the event. The tournament was executed smoothly, garnering positive feedback from all attendees.
In a thrilling conclusion, both the Junior and Senior teams from Vidyodaya emerged as the winners. The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Dr. Geetha Shashidhar, Principal of Anandathirtha Vidyalaya, Pajaka, who presented the prizes to the victorious teams.
The event was impeccably organized and was a great success, reflecting the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
