Aksharabhyasa @Vidyodaya Public School

Formal beginning of education the word 'Akshara' means letters and 'Abhyasa' means practice in which the child is given initiation of education so that the child is ready to receive formal education. This ritual involves goddess Saraswati Pooja. It is believed to invoke the blessings of deities and seek their guidance in the child's education journey.


On 22.06.2023 (Thursday), Aksharabhyasa ceremony was arranged for the students of LKG in Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi at Shri Vishwesha Theertha Ranga Mandira presided by our Treasurer of Vidyodaya Trust. Sri U Padmaraj Acharya and our principal Smt. Anitha P Raj.


The rituals of Aksharabhyasa was performed by Sri.Ganesh Somayaji, Sanskrit teacher of Vidyodaya Public School,in a traditional way. As it is the traditional way of beginning, the tiny tots were made to write "OM" on the rice-filled plates.


Co-ordinator of Pre-Primary section Smt. Latha R Nayak and Pre-Primary teachers were present. Students and parents with the traditional attire attended and performed Aksharabhyasa.
