Aksharabhyasa is a traditional ceremony marking the initiation of a child's formal education. This event includes a ritual dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, seeking divine blessings for the child's educational journey.
On June 12, 2024 (Wednesday), Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, organized the Aksharabhyasa ceremony for LKG students at Shri Vishwesha Theertha Ranga Mandira. The event began with a lamp lighting ceremony led by the Principal of Vidyodaya Public School, Smt. Anitha P Raj, invoking divine blessings.
Sri Ganesh Somayaji, a Sanskrit teacher at Vidyodaya Public School, conducted the Aksharabhyasa rituals in a traditional manner. The young children were guided to write "OM" on plates filled with rice, symbolizing the start of their educational journey.
The program was efficiently managed by Pre-Primary Coordinator Smt. Latha R Nayak. Smt. Sumalatha delivered the welcome note, and Smt. Kavita Shetty extended the vote of thanks. All LKG teachers were present to support the event. The students and their parents, dressed in traditional attire, participated in the ceremony, making it a memorable and auspicious start to the children's formal education.
